CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT AT WINTERSHALL DEA IN GERMANY AND THE NETHERLANDS • Robert Frimpong becomes new Head of Business Unit Germany in Hamburg
• Dirk Warzecha leaves the company on 31 December 2020
• Jone Hess succeeds as Managing Director of Wintershall Noordzee

Hamburg /Kassel. Dirk Warzecha, Managing Director of Business Unit Wintershall Dea Germany, will leave the company on 31 December 2020. A graduate oil engineer, he was a member of the Executive Management Board and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at DEA until the merger between Wintershall and DEA in May 2019. After the merger to form Wintershall Dea as Europe’s leading gas and oil company, Dirk Warzecha took over responsibility for E&P activities in Germany as Senior Vice President. With the completion of the integration project, he is now leaving the company at the end of the year.

Robert Frimpong will succeed Dirk Warzecha as Head of Business Unit Germany on 1 January 2021. He has been heading the Business Unit Netherlands, UK, and Denmark since 2014, and is Managing Director of Wintershall Noordzee in Rijswijk in the Netherlands. Prior to this, Robert Frimpong held various management positions at Wintershall, including Vice President Technology.

Jone Hess will in turn take over as Managing Director of Wintershall Noordzee, likewise on 1 January 2021. Hess has headed the internal integration project at Wintershall Dea since Wintershall and DEA merged in May 2019. Prior to that, the Norwegian held various management positions at DEA and E.ON E&P.

Wintershall Dea welcomes Robert Frimpong and Jone Hess to their new positions and wishes them both success.
